Notice of a Partial Leave
As you may already be aware, I have decreased my visibility online for the past couple years by privating my Twitter account, unlisting YouTube videos, and deleting other social media platforms. The remaining platforms that I am active on are here, my Tumblr blog, and Discord.
However, after some discussion with close friends, I believe it best that I take a step back from online connections. Factors vary, but at times I feel I invest more mental energy into matters I shouldn't have to consider. I realize this is a personal issue, as I open myself too much to casual relations with others. That is why I am initiating this action.
Therefore, I am leaving all public servers on Discord, and I have no intent to return to them later. My interests have shifted far enough in these past couple years that I no longer feel connected, or in certain cases, welcome, in the communities that once felt so inviting. Fingers will not be pointed at any one person, nor do I want to raise suspicion if you happen to read this and think it is about you. The people I have issues with wouldn't give the time of day to read this. This is in addition to the reality that, yes, some poor interactions may have affected me worse due to assumptions created in my own mind. The fact of the matter is, I will not look to make amends with those individuals, because I will never willingly see or remember them again in my life.
DMs are still open, but I'm not looking to make any new friends. I will gladly interact with strangers, online mutuals, or acquaintances as I always have.
